Unfortunately only a few could get for the gathering next month, so for now it has had to be cancelled, however, Pip and Roger are looking for suggestions for a future date, perhaps near the start or end of the boating season next year? If you can suggest a good weekend and/or venue for an owners gathering of boats and owners, please either contact Ally at Beacon, or Pip and Roger from Windsong. It would be great to get as many of you together as possible for a good old banter, and an opportunity for us to thank you all for your continued support of our business too!

Pip and Roger from our number 9 boat, Windsong, are trying to get a 'gathering' together of Beacon Boats and owners, at Foxton, on September 10th & 11th. All owners are invited, preferably with boats, and future customers who are currently booked for a future build, are also invited. Hopefully several will be able to make it. If it takes off, there may be a little something to come from us, as a thank you to all our customers! Hopefully this will continue to be a regular annual gathering in the future.
There is a new thread in the forum page, for any replies or questions from you. Triskaideka, our last launch in June, has gone off on her adventures now, which can be followed on the blog. We have now started the next build, N/B 'Post Combustion', a very different style from Triskaideka. We continue to post news and pictures of the builds on our Facebook page.
The owners of Windsong have contacted me this week...they are hoping to set up a 'Beacon Boats' Owners group, and arrange a meet up this autumn, with as many of our boats together as possible. Good luck with arrangements Yesterday we launched N/B Triskaideka, at Pillings lock marina. The launch went very well, and we would like to wish Ali & John all the best in their lovely boat as they cruise the system. She is a lovely boat, so look out for her cruising past. Photo's of the launch can be found on our facebook page. We also took in the new shell at the same time, and will be commencing the fit for that very soon. Again, that can be followed via our facebook page.
Full photo's and description of Triskaideka will follow on this site shortly. We have now taken more bookings for boat builds, and our build slots are currently all booked until the middle of 2014! Good news for us and our customers, though it will mean a long wait for anyone wanting to book a build slot for a while.
We are happy to talk to prospective customers who are thinking well ahead however, but will be stopping our published adverts in magazines for a little while, until we get a little nearer to more slot availability...so, if you don't see our adverts anymore, we haven't gone under, we are just very busy!! We have some interesting builds coming up, customers with less usual builds in mind, so keep an eye on the website, and our Facebook page for regular news and pictures. The Facebook page will give a very regular update to anyone following it, of what we are up to All things being equal, we will be launching n/b Triskaideka on June 6th.
If anyone wishes to view her prior to launch, please contact us and book a visit. We are open over the next bank holiday weekend for such appointments. Following launch, we will be commencing the next build, which can be followed via our Facebook page, so if you use Facebook, search Beacon Boats Ltd., 'like' our page, and you will then receive regular updates. We have been involved in a forum day about the new stove fitting standard for narrowboats; BS8511-2010, and will now be fitting all solid fuel stoves to this standard. All sorts of things came out of the forum, and we are waiting for more to come as more manufacturers produce suitable products....saw a brand new very interesting stove specially designed for boats......who's going to be first for one of those I wonder? We rather liked it!
The new build is coming along well now. All the cupboards and units are done except the bathroom vanity unit.......time to make a start on the through doors and outer door claddings next. Painting should start next week. For photo's please see our customers blog...link on the forum (N/B Triskaideka)
I have received this photo of Serenity & Windsong out cruising together last summer...what a lovely photo....thought I'd share it with you! They're cruising together again after this weekend.
