'The Gathering 2013'
On Saturday 7th September 2013, Beacon Boats hosted their first Gathering, at Barrow-upon-Soar, Leics. We wanted to thank all our customers for their support over the years, and give them the opportunity to meet each other.
4 of our previous boats were able to attend for the weekend, Serenity, Windsong, QE111, and Triskaideka, whilst most of the rest of our previous customers, and a couple booked ahead in the future, came along by road to enjoy an afternoon looking around the boats, visiting the workshop to see the current boat in build, and meeting up with the other Beacon Owners, many of whom already know each other from past events and build overlaps.
The 4 boats all shuffled around for us to get some photo’s of them all together...amongst much laughter!
The evening was spent socialising at the Soar Bridge Inn, with a buffet, drinks, and a ‘narrowboat’ cake, followed by Beacon fleeces being given out to all our customers. Pictures and a looped slide show of pictures, were around the room. The evening was summed up as a room full of smiles & laughter!
We hope to repeat the event in the future, and our customers are now wanting a ‘Beacon Boats Owners Club’.
We would like to thank all who attended, with special thanks to The Soar Bridge Inn for hosting us all over the weekend (it carried on into Sunday too!) and to Kathy Brown, our lovely photographer.
