General
Beacon Boats Ltd are a small family run company.
Neil Burrows and Ally Myers are brother and sister-in-law, who first opened the company, along with another partner at that time, in July 2004.
We became a limited company in 2009.
Our work ethos is to build the best boats we are able to, giving the best value, service, and follow up we can. We like our customers to be involved in the design of their boats as much as possible, and spend a lot of time with each customer, to try to get a full understanding of their needs and concepts for each build.

Ally Myers
Ally has had a love of boats for years. Having lived near
canals in Wales she finally started her first build for a boat of her own in
2003 which was the beginning of the business idea.
Her background was in art and design, and later in Psychiatric Nursing.
She spent several years in Wales renovating houses before selling up and starting her first boat. Neil was ‘on board’ for this project, and along with her then partner, the business was started.
Ally works on all things office based, including designs and buying, all the wood finishing, some second fixing, and general labour for the company.
Ally now lives on her second narrowboat, a 62’ tug style, mid-engine boat, that is being fitted out around her, her partner and their dog.

Neil Burrows
Neil has a background in electrical engineering, and
experience in a wide range of skills from steam machinery to general plant
maintenance. He is a self taught wood worker, having crafted in wood for many
years before going into boat building. He has an innovative mind which finds
solutions to problems we are sometimes faced with.
His first interest in boats and all things water based came from being involved with the Sea Cadets as a teen. He later bought a small boat with a friend that they spent many hours working on, and then joined Ally to help in the build of her first personal boat.
Neil does the majority of the cabinet making, and systems work on our boats.
Neil is also interested in motorbikes and traditional fairground machinery. He spends what time he can with his daughter, Ayesha.
